Bill Bitaxis B.A., D.Ch. B.Sc. Podiatric Medicine is a dedicated Chiropodist/Foot Specialist with experience in treating and preventing diseases and dysfunctions of the foot. Bill is graduate from the University of Toronto then received his Chiropody training at the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Toronto, where he underwent 3 years of practical and didactic training in all aspects of podiatric medicine, biomechanics, orthotic therapy, anesthesia, surgery, and physical therapy. He then continued his education achieving a B.Sc. in Podiatric Medicine from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. Bill also has a passion for wound care and furthered his education by completing the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course through the University of Toronto.
Bill is a registered member with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario. As a primary foot care provider, Bill works in multiple settings which include hospital community and private office. He is also a clinical educator and coordinator and enjoys teaching students. Chiropodist or Podiatrist can help children, adults and seniors with a variety of foot problems. In children, early detection of many foot problems such as flat feet, in or out toeing can prevent more serious complications from developing later in life such as knee and lower back pain. The geriatric population can also benefit from Chiropody or Podiatry services for treatment of painful lesions resulting from the effects of diabetes, rheumatoid or osteoarthritis and biomechemical anomalies.
