Bill Bitaxis
  • Registered Chiropodist

    Foot and Ankle Specialist

    B.A., D.Ch., B.Sc. Podiatric Medicine., Wound Care IIWCC

    Bill is a dedicated Chiropodist/Foot Specialist with experience in treating and preventing diseases and dysfunctions of the foot. Bill completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and with a special interest in the lower limb and feet, he continued his education and received his Chiropody training from the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Toronto. During his post-graduate studies, Bill underwent 3 years of practical and didactic training in all aspects of podiatric medicine, biomechanics, orthotic therapy, anaesthesia, surgery, and physical therapy. He then continued his education achieving a B.Sc. in Podiatric Medicine from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. Bill also has a passion for wound care and furthered his education by completing the International Inter-professional Wound Care Course through the University of Toronto.

    Bill is a registered member with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario. As a primary foot care provider, Bill works in multiple settings which includes hospitals, community and private offices. He is also a clinical educator and coordinator and enjoys teaching students. Chiropodist or Podiatrist can help children, adults and seniors with a variety of foot problems. In children, early detection of many foot problems such as flat feet, in or out toeing can prevent more serious complications from developing later in life such as knee and lower back pain. The geriatric population can also benefit from Chiropody or Podiatry services for treatment of painful lesions resulting from the effects of diabetes, rheumatoid or osteoarthritis and biomechanical abnormalities.

Thaina Tamtakiridis

    BASc., HBSc., D.Ch., MPodMed

    Thaina graduated from the University of Toronto earning an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. She holds a special interest in musculoskeletal disorders and mechanics of the lower limb, ankle, and foot.

    Thaina moved to Melbourne Australia and completed a Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Podiatric Practice. To date, she is a registered Podiatrist in Australia, and Manitoba, and a registered member with the College of Chiropodist of Ontario holding a full scope license in good standing.

    Over the past few years, Thaina has worked and gained vital experience in public, private and multidisciplinary healthcare settings which facilitated exposure to individuals of all ages with diverse conditions. During her work in Manitoba, she performed corticosteroid injection therapy under guidance of Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging to successfully treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

    Thaina takes pride in her personal and professional career growth and commits time to complete continuing education courses to enhance her clinical reasoning skills and knowledge to provide her patients with the highest level of evidence-based solutions.

    Thaina is dedicated to her patients and strives to provide complete care for lower limb and foot care health issues.

Amanda Mederios
  • B.HSc. (Hon)

    Chiropody Assistant and Receptionist

    Amanda graduated from the University of Ottawa, earning an Honours Bachelor of Health Science degree with a specialization in Population and Public Health. She is currently working towards her Advanced Chiropody Diploma at the Michener Institute of Education and is expected to graduate in the spring of 2024.

    Over the last 3 years, Amanda has shadowed and worked alongside several Chiropodists within Toronto and the GTA. This has allowed her to gain vital experience within the field and gain exposure to patients with a variety of different foot related conditions. She has most recently completed a 3 month clinical externship at the Ottawa Hospital with a focus on Rehabilitation and Wound Care.

    In her free time, Amanda likes to golf. During her undergraduate degree she was a member of the University of Ottawa Women's Golf Team, playing at the provincial level.
